About Jim Sincock

If this is your first visit to my site, please visit the Gallery pages to view my work. I am a photographer who focuses on landscape and nature photography, as well as fine art still life photography.

With my landscape photography, I seek to provide unique views of wild and natural places in Colorado and the West, as well as Wisconsin and parts of the Midwest. My still life photography is a conversation between camera, light and subject.

I studied Fine Art Photography at Milwaukee Center for Photography (and later, the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.) MCP is where I moved up from 35mm to a 4×5 camera. Working with a large format camera taught me to slow down, and really see my subject. This is where I gained a stronger passion for nature and landscape photography.

From 1989-2000, I ran my own commercial photo studio, first in Milwaukee, and later in Boulder, Colorado. My focus was primarily on small product photography. Around 2000, I moved on to graphic & web design. Visit my design page to learn more about getting an affordable website designed for your business. I also co-founded Colorado Local Sustainability and the Rocky Mountain Growers Directory, a project which supports local & sustainable farming.

If you’ve followed my art at all, you know that this site is continually evolving as I explore new creative ideas. Since I began Interrobang, in 1996, it has showcased my darker & more surreal photo illustrations, my commercial photography, my stock photography, and my graphic & web design. I also shared it with creative friends like Rocky Tidd, and Tod Kapke.

Now, I have returned to my roots, and am focusing on landscape photography, and occasionally studio still life work. My style, or vision, for landscape photography has evolved quite a bit from my early days.

I haven’t exhibited my work all that much, yet have been in several exhibits around the US, and in the UK. My surreal art has been printed in EFX Art & Design (aka Mac Art & Design) and in the art book “MH2 – Metalheart is Movement”.
