Glass Ambrotype in handmade shadow box frame with gold leaf
This piece is a glass ambrotype which I created for my Quiet Places series for the Fellowship I received from the Racine Art Museum. The still life uses the historic wet plate collodion ambrotype process which was then backed with tar and gold pigment. The ambrotype is float mounted in a handmade shadow box style frame which is lined with gold metal leafing to accentuate the dark image of Bodhisattva.
This piece is one-of-a-kind.
