Breathing is a photo encaustic which was created as a part of my Quiet Places series for the Fellowship I received from the Racine Art Museum. The industrial scene was photographed on a large format tintype which was then scanned and printed to fine art cotton rag paper using archival Carbon pigment inks. The prints were mounted to wood panel and then coated with shellac, and beeswax, along with the use of tar and powdered silver and copper pigments. The piece is mounted in a handmade shadow box style frame has an aged feel which compliments the feel of the art piece.

Dimensions: 33 x 28 x 2 in
