Prajna is a large scale photo encaustic which was created as a part of my Quiet Places series for the Fellowship I received from the Racine Art Museum. The still life was photographed on a large format glass dry plate negative using a handmade emulsion. Once developed, the negative was scanned and then printed to fine art cotton rag paper using archival Carbon pigment inks. The prints were mounted to wood panel and then coated with shellac, and beeswax, along with the use of tar and gold metal leafing.

The piece is 48" w x 40" h x 2" d.

Prajna is a unique one-of-a-kind piece.

This piece of art is available for pick-up at my studio in Racine, Wisconsin. Racine is conveniently located between Chicago and Milwaukee.  If you would like to purchase this piece and need it shipped, please contact me before purchasing.
